Endorsements and Piracy

Many athletes and especially the more famous professional athletes make endorsement deals with companies so they can advertise using the company’s product and get paid for it. A famous athlete such as Michael Jordan had many endorsements and still does today. His endorsements are Coco Cola, Wheaties, Hanes, Nike, Ray-O-Vac Batteries and Gatorade. He still makes money today from some of these. An Athlete like David Ortiz also makes many endorsement deals including Vitaminwater, Dunkin Donuts, Samsung, Wheaties, Marucci, Big Papi hot sauce and Backyard Baseball. Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees also has many endorsement deals with Vita CoCo, Got Milk, Wheaties and Visa credit card. A-Rod’s endorsements have gone down since his steroid scandal. Peyton Manning has endorsements such as Wheaties, Reebok, Papa Johns, Gatorade, Buick and Sprint. Some of Mike Trout’s endorsements are Bodyarmor, Subway and MLB The Show. Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers has endorsements like Chrysler and New Balance. Jonathan Toews has endorsement deals with Bauer and Canadian Tire. Andrew Luck has a deal with just Bodyarmor because of his short time in the NFL.

Piracy, the unauthorized selling and production of another’s work happens often in the world of big media companies and businesses. One example is limewire, the online free music site that distributed songs of all artists without authorization from those artists. Another piracy example is a website called megashare. This website requires a free membership and provides all kinds of movies in great numbers without authorization from movie companies to show them to the public. People can also illegally download music to their phones from Youtube. People can also do this on websites like mp3 Raid and Songs.PK and also Music Addict. Piracy happens a lot and people often get in trouble for downloading off of it and also making the websites.
